Maple Leafs adds 14th player to COVID roster, with Jake Muzzin last on protocol

Maple Leafs defender Jake Muzzin was included in the NHL’s COVID health and safety protocols, the team announced Sunday morning.

There are 14 players, three coaches and four support staff on that list, but an update is likely to come this afternoon when the Leafs are scheduled to practice.

Toronto’s next game against the Columbus Blue Jackets has been postponed. The Leafs are scheduled to play Pittsburgh at home on Wednesday.

The Leafs have postponed five games and haven’t played since Dec. 14 when they defeated the Oilers.

The Leafs players on the protocol list are: Muzzin, William Nylander, Morgan Rielly, David Kämpf, Ilya Mikheyev, Rasmus Sandin, Petr Mrázek, Jack Campbell, John Tavares, Alex Kerfoot, Wayne Simmonds, TJ Brodie, Jason Spezza and Travis Dermott.

Head coach Sheldon Keefe is also on the list.

Maple Leafs defender Jake Muzzin is the latest Toronto player to be added to the COVID health and safety protocol list.
