Man in ‘life-threatening’ condition after stabbing outside TTC station

A man is fighting for his life in hospital in “life-threatening” condition Saturday after a stabbing outside Main St. subway station Friday night, according to police.

“At 6:49 pm we were called for a stabbing at the Main subway station,” said Const. Laura Brabant.

“There was an altercation between a group of men and this was outside the main doors at the street level of the station. A man was stabbed.

The victim is a man in his 20s,” said Const. Brabant.

“He was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries. And at this time he still remains in hospital with a life-threatening condition.”

Two suspects are being sought by police.

“Two suspects were initially seen fleeing the area,” said Const. Brabant.

Investigators have not yet released a description of who they are looking for.

The incident shut down subway and bus service to the station for at least four hours.

TTC alerted commuters at 6:52 pm about a disruption to service at Main Street Station.

Service resumed at the station at about 11:15 pm
