Man Faces Charges After Running At Saskatoon Officials With A Butcher Knife

A 58-year-old man faces charges after charging at Saskatoon police and emergency medical services Saturday morning.

The Saskatoon Police Service (SPS) was called in to assist with a medical call at an apartment building in the 300 block of Sixth Avenue North, according to a news release.

SPS says the man was “upset” that the police and emergency medical services were there, took a butcher knife and charged at them.

A Taser was deployed, prompting the man to drop the knife and be arrested.

The man faces charges of assaulting a police officer with a weapon.

Nobody was hurt.
