Man dies after shooting in Toronto’s Swansea neighborhood


Homicide investigators are investigating after man was found without vital signs in his car following a shooting Thursday night, Toronto police say.

The sound of gunshots was reported at 9:53 pm in Toronto’s Swansea neighborhood near The Queensway and Windermere Avenue. Witnesses reported hearing multiple shots, police allege, and say a vehicle was seen speeding away from the scene.

When officers arrived, they found a male victim in a vehicle without vital signs. Toronto police say officers performed CPR on the person before paramedics rushed him to hospital.

The victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead in hospital, officers confirmed.

Toronto’s homicide unit is now investigating the shooting.

Police have not indicated if this was a targeted shooting or if they have information on a suspect or the vehicle that was seen driving away from the scene.
