Man dies after New Westminster street fight, homicide investigators on scene

Homicide detectives were called to New Westminster after a Friday night street fight turned deadly. Police say one of the two men involved died from his injuries.

Officers were called to Bole and Maple streets at 9:24 p.m. after receiving multiple calls reporting a fight in the residential area. There, the agents “located a man who suffered significant injuries.”

The victim was transported to Royal Columbian Hospital and paramedics administered life-saving interventions, but to no avail.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team is investigating the incident, along with the felony unit of the New Westminster Police Department. Police are “currently in the evidence gathering phase,” Sgt. Sanjay Kumar.
