Man arrested after series of robberies in Peterborough city and county: OPP – Peterborough | The Canadian News

An arrest was made following several reported robberies in the city and county of Peterborough on Wednesday.

According to the Peterborough County OPP, the first incident occurred around 6 pm at a residence in Peterborough where a trailer containing construction equipment was stolen.

Police say the suspect later attended a residence in Selwyn Township, but was confronted by a landlord. The suspect allegedly damaged the owner’s vehicle and other property before fleeing the area.

The OPP says the same suspect later stole multiple gardening equipment from a residence in Otonabee-South Monaghan Township.

At around 9:45 pm, investigators located the suspect at the storage facility on Highway 7. He was arrested and the stolen items were recovered.

Raymond Gould, 36, of Selwyn Township, was charged with possession of property obtained for a crime of more than $ 5,000, theft of more than $ 5,000, mischief under $ 5,000, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, two charges of operating a motor vehicle while prohibited and one count of violation of a probation order.
