Man, 55, charged in child sex abuse material investigation

Toronto Police have arrested a man following a child sexual abuse material investigation.

On Wednesday, April 20, the Toronto Police Child Exploitation Section executed a Criminal Code search warrant looking for child sexual abuse material.

Police say the suspect was using the usernames of “fstopvox” and “F_Stop_Fitzgerald” on various social media platforms.

Richard Burdett, 55, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with luring a child under 18 years, possession of child pornography, access child pornography, make child pornography, and make available child pornography.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 416-808-8500, or Crime Stoppers at 416-222-TIPS (8477).

“The Toronto Police Service recognizes that parents and caregivers are the frontline when it comes to protecting children on the Internet and electronic devices,” police said in a release.
