In the latest installment of my three-part makeup tutorial for the woman / mom on the go, I’m sharing my super easy to wear smokey eye for the day.

To clarify, a “smoky eye” does not refer to a dark color or tone, it refers to a technique – typically a deeper saturation along the lash line and gradually lightening at the crease and brow bone. .

To recap last week’s look, I applied Glo Skin Beauty – Cream Stay Shadow Stick in Scotch along the eyelid and mixed it with my finger. I covered my lashes with mascara and kept my brows natural and my lip color neutral. Here are three simple steps to help you transition to a smooth smokey eye.

Step 1

To take advantage of the smoky look, I outlined the crease with a mid-toned MAC shadow in Saddle. Then I lined the lower lash line with the same Glo Shadow Stick in Scotch and blended or smoked it with a small shadow brush.

Step 2

One of the best ways to make a big impact with your makeup is to fill in and frame your brows. I am using Benefit – Precisely My Brow Pencil at No. 3.5.

And so, you have a nice and sophisticated smokey eye. The beauty of this look is that it takes five minutes to apply and lends itself to various lipstick options, be it glossy, deep, or natural.
