López Obrador confirms that he tested positive for Covid-19; will remain in isolation

President Andrés Manuel López Obrador confirmed this Monday that he tested positive for coronavirus, this is the second time that the president is infected with this disease.

The president assured through his social networks that he is well and has not presented serious symptoms of Covid-19 and that the head of the Ministry of the Interior, Adán Augusto López will represent him in his traditional morning conferences.

“I inform you that I am infected with Covid-19 and although the symptoms are mild, I will remain in isolation and will only do office work and communicate virtually until I get ahead,” López Obrador explained.

“The Secretary of the Interior, Adán Augusto López Hernández, will represent me at press conferences and other events. Courage, with the usual affection!”

The test carried out by López Obrador on January 10 was due to the fact that in the morning he woke up “hoarse”, however he did not cancel his usual morning press conference. In his conference, the president said that he considered it was only the flu and not a Covid-19 infection.

It should be remembered that it was on January 24, 2021 when President López Obrador was infected for the first time with the disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, within the framework of the second wave of infections in the country.
