Longueuil: a family finds itself on the street after a fire


A family of two adults and three children find themselves on the street after the fire in their home Thursday evening, in Longueuil, in Montérégie.

The fire started around 9 p.m., on the first floor of the three-level building located on rue Conefroy. Of electrical origin, the fire was limited to the first level of the accommodation forcing the evacuation of the inhabitants of three units. The tenants of two of them were able to return to their unit, only this family was taken in charge by the Red Cross.

“The damage to the building is assessed at $150,000. A firefighter was slightly injured in the intervention,” added Alain Lessard, chief of operations at the city of Longueuil.
