The city’s Department of Recreation and Culture announced weather permitting sessions Thursday for the Ottawa Street runway.

Based on provincial requirements, the runway will have reduced capacity and will require advance reservations at activewindsor.ca or by calling 519-255-1161.

Public sessions, sponsored by Pathway 2 Potential, will be held on Sunday, Boxing Day, from 1 to 3 pm, Monday through Thursday from 4 to 5 pm, and on January 2 from 1 to 3 pm.

The track is also available for rental by calling 519-253-2300 ext. 2714.

COVID-19 protocols will be implemented and participants will be asked to arrive for their reserved public skating time no more than 10 minutes early.

Helmets are recommended and participants will be required to physically move away during check-in.

Remember to wear your mask as it is needed until you are on the ice.

City of Windsor staff will be on site to register skaters and admit them onto the ice.

Restrooms are available, but no additional facilities are open at this time.

The city says the runway in downtown Charles Clark Square will be open when weather permits.
