Canucks playing like Keystone Kops

Well, I was excited for the new NHL season to resume with the fans in the seats once again, but not so much now. First, the Canucks are more like the Keystone Kops than an NHL team most nights.

Yes, we have some key players injured and others stumbling out the door and still can’t find their rhythm, this is to be expected to some extent. But due to the many personnel changes in the offseason and a lack of depth in the minors, only a fan with little hockey knowledge could sit for an entire game.

If the loss to Colorado wasn’t bad enough, then last night’s game against Las Vegas must surely have the alarm bells ringing somewhere in Canuckville. I’m sure the central players are more embarrassed than anyone by their performance.

And lastly, can anyone tell me again why Trevor Linden was kicked out of the organization? Oh right, he had the audacity to tell the owners the truth about the team’s chances of being a playoff contender in the near future.

The Aquilinis chose to follow the message they wanted to hear from Jim Benning and Travis Green rather than the message they needed to hear from Linden, and here we are today.

It’s not just the weather that is ugly in Vancouver right now.

Re: Child raising money to buy gifts for sick children; An 11-year-old boy helped raise $ 60,000 in 2020

At the same time, I would also like to congratulate your helpers and supporters such as Landon Brown, the Dilawri Group car dealers, Allwest insurance agencies, many others, and donors.

I would also like to thank Postmedia News, The Province, and reporter Lori Culbert for bringing this news to their readers.

Canada needs more conscientious young people like Jonathan to continue these acts of kindness. Jonathan is so right when Culbert quotes him: “We truly believe that if we work together, we can all help illuminate the lives of many amazing children who are fighting hard to get better.”

Well done, Bear. Keep up the good work!

Balwant Sanghera, Richmond
