La Haus prepares the way to debut on the stock market


The boost that the La Haus platform has had, dedicated to the purchase of housing digitally, especially in Colombia and Mexico, has made the firm point towards its debut in the public markets.

This Wednesday, May 18, the signing proptech announced the appointment of Carlos Pelayo as its new Chief Financial Officer, which is part of the organization’s strategy to maintain profitable, scalable and sustainable growth and operation, with a view to his debut in bag.

With this movement, Rodrigo Sánchez-Ríos, co-founder of La Haus, remains president of the company and passes the baton of financial director to Pelayo.

“(Pelayo) is recognized for his career in investment banking and as an advisor in the capital markets debt and financial structure,” the company explained in a statement.

According to Sánchez-Ríos, this movement responds to reinforcing the financial management strategy of the firm and thus, begin the path to reach the public markets.

“Carlos (Pelayo) will lead the financial and administrative area, we want to maintain solidity not only in the coming years, but in the coming decades,” said Rodrigo Sánchez-Ríos, co-founder and president of La Haus.

For Jerónimo Uribe, CEO of La Haus, this new stage of the firm comes after the success it has had with investment funds.

“At La Haus we have raised investment from leading funds and entrepreneurs in the region, we have the support of Kaszek, Jeff Bezos, David Velez and many many more, but our goal is not just to raise capital, our goal is to have a profitable business from social and economic impact, grow in a healthy way with a view to achieving a global impact, and thus work for access to housing at multiple levels,” said Uribe.

Financial profile

The new financial director of La Haus has a Master of Business Administration from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a degree in Industrial Engineering from the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education.

In his career he has more than 15 years of experience in the financial and banking sector, with positions as director of Investment Banking at Credit Suisse. He “he worked in debt issuance, structured finance, and mergers and acquisitions in Mexico City and New York.”

“With Carlos Pelayo as the financial leader of La Haus, we are moving forward with our plan to be ready to step into the public markets when the time is right. The volatility of market must be considered, but that is where we are going.” Sánchez Ríos highlighted.

For this year, the firm’s goal is to sell about 24,000 residential units through a 100% digital process that is complemented by financial options, which can range from deferring down payments to obtaining mortgage financing.
