Kawacatoose Man Faces Second Degree Murder Charges | The Canadian News

The Saskatchewan Major Crimes Unit has charged a 33-year-old man from the Kawacatoose First Nation with murder in the second degree.

Eric Charles Favel faces a second degree murder charge in connection with the death of Thomas Dustyhorn.

Police say that on November 26, 2021, the Punnichy RCMP responded to a report of an injured person at a residence in the Kawacatoose First Nation. Police found an injured man, Dustyhorn, who was taken to the hospital in Saskatoon. That night he died.

Favel was arrested at the scene. He was transferred to the Regina hospital for treatment for his injuries and released.

Police say Favel appeared in Regina Provincial Court today at 9:30 a.m.

This investigation is ongoing with the assistance of the Punnichy RCMP, the Saskatoon and Yorkton General Investigation Section, the Regina and Saskatoon Forensic Identification Services, and the RCMP Saskatchewan Division Criminal Analysis Section.
