There was indeed a seizure in the Bois-des-Fillion sector, confirmed the Terrebonne police department to the QMI Agency. However, the identity of the owner could not be revealed since “the intervention was related to the Highway Safety Code”.

“Basically, I forgot to pay for a ticket. They towed my car. [Pour la fouille du coffre-arrière]they just wanted to see if I needed anything before she went to the pound,” said Mr. Awad in an exchange of text messages with La Presse.

“Footage circulating on social media shows that Mr Awad was driving his Rolls-Royce registered ‘000’ when the police intervened. A policewoman searches the trunk of the car, before Mr. Awad gets out,” said La Presse in an article.

“[La policière] told me to open the suitcase to make sure there was nothing [de valeur] inside. We watched together and it didn’t bother me,” added Mr. Awad.

According to La Presse, Mr. Awad would have posted on his Instagram account a photo of the numerous tickets he received, accompanied by the mention “World Record” and a hilarious emoticon.

“I’m going to hire an assistant this year so that it doesn’t happen again,” he said on his social networks.
