Jalisco captured 763.1 million dollars of FDI in the last quarter


Guadalajara, Jalisco. In the last quarter of 2021, Jalisco raised 763.1 million dollars of Foreign direct investment (FDI), with which it ranked second nationally with the highest FDI inflows during that period, only behind Nuevo León, which attracted 921.7 million dollars.

“In Jalisco we are open to the world and we are a land of trust and certainty,” said the general strategic coordinator for Economic Growth and Development, Xavier Orendain de Obeso.

According to the Secretariat of Economic Development (Sedeco) of the state, based on revised and final figures from the federal Ministry of Economy, the sectors that attracted the largest number of FDI during the fourth quarter of the year it was wholesale trade, food, beverages and tobacco with 322.1 million dollars, followed by the beverage and tobacco industry with 103 million dollars, and manufacturing of computer equipment, communication and electronic accessories with 76 million dollars

“In total, in 2021 in Jalisco we captured 2,098 million dollars; 42,650 million pesos for the benefit of our land, of our communities”, indicated Orendain de Obeso.

According to the analysis of Sedecothe country that invested the most in the state was the United Kingdom with 664.8 million dollars, followed by the United States with 653.1 million dollars and Spain in third place with 256.5 million dollars.

At the end of 2021, the entity ranked fourth in the country in deposits FDI.
