The business received a court order on Friday, and police enforced the order a day later.
“So, at approximately 5:40 am, Kingston Police were operating in an assist capacity to assist the Sheriff’s Office in issuing the Superior Court order on Kelly Hale, the owner and owner of JAKK Tuesday,” he said. Kingston Police Sgt. Steve Koopman.
“Our role was to ensure that everyone was safe, to keep the peace and also to ensure the evacuation of the facilities as stated in the order.. “
When the police first appeared, the doors were closed, but after a few minutes, Hale relented and let the officers into the restaurant.
“So initially, while talking to him through the door, he had said he would not comply,” Koopman said. “He also potentially gave misleading information about the number and demographics of the people inside.”
Several people attended JAKK on Tuesdays to show their support on Friday afternoon and evening.

Koopman said that some online videos had shown that there were many people, including children, in the building, prompting Kingston police to wait until the early hours before visiting the restaurant.
Some protesters had chosen to sleep there, but Koopman said the number was far fewer than the night before.
“Fortunately, at the end of the day, there were about 10 people inside, including Mr. Hale,” Koopman said.
“I think they were all adults, except for a 15-year-old teenager. So any of the young children that were seen in the video last night appear to have left before our attendance this morning. “
As for the future of JAKK Tuesdays, that depends on the legal system.
“The doors of JAKK Tuesday Sports Pub are closed until the court hears the matter,” KFL & A Public Health says in a statement.
