Internet insurance sales grow

The sale of insurance through the Internet grew 4.5%, with car protection products being the most contracted through this means, reported the National Insurance and Surety Commission (CNSF).

“The closure of the economy boosted distribution channels with less personal contact such as the Internet, which showed growth,” he highlighted in his report Analytical Panorama of the Insurance and Surety Sector for the first quarter of 2022.

Agents remain the most important insurance distribution channel, which placed 6% of the premium in the first quarter, while Internet sales represent 2 percent.

“The sector relied on technology to circumvent the effects of the health crisis, without altering traditional channels, which allows expanding penetration, as well as profiling the most appropriate insured with respect to their preferences and risks,” reported the CNSF .
