Inspiration 100 donates $ 70,000 to 10 local charities

Inspiration 100, a group of 100 community-minded philanthropic leaders in Windsor and Essex County, announced on Wednesday the investment of $ 70,000 for 10 charities.

The ALS Society of Windsor-Essex County, Autism Services Inc. of Windsor-Essex, Children First, Fight Like Mason Foundation, Windsor-Essex Children’s Aid Society, Windsor Goodfellows, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Windsor Essex, Hiatus House, The Hospice of Windsor and Essex Counties and Windsor’s The Windsor Youth Center / Downtown Mission are the recipients.

“Each of the 100 members feels personally responsible for strengthening Windsor-Essex, especially during these difficult times,” said Rae-Anne Copat, chair of the grant review committee. “We are excited to see the positive impact this investment will have on the ten local charities that are receiving funding and on the Windsor-Essex community.”

Inspiration 100 invests in local charities to help fund programs and initiatives that help support community development and work to address the top problem areas highlighted in the WindsorEssex Community Foundation’s Annual Vital Signs Report.

Through a charitable fund maintained in perpetuity under the umbrella of the WindsorEssex Community Foundation, the organization has invested a total of $ 215,000 in 25 local charities within Windsor-Essex over the past five years.

The WindsorEssex Community Foundation is a perpetual community trust that manages inherited donor funds and makes grants to support local community programs.
