By 2022, Special tax on production and services (IEPS) to gasoline will have a nominal increase of 7.3% for the three fuels, reaching 5.4917 pesos per liter in Magna gasoline, 4.6375 for Premium and 6.0354 in the case of diesel.
This was decreed this Thursday by the Ministry of Finance in its publication of the Official Gazette of the Federation, after during the discussion of the Income Law it had been raised that these taxes would increase in line with inflation, which is expected to be 7.66% at the end of 2021.
With this, the increase in the IEPS would be slightly below the inflationary increase, which will be determined officially until the end of December.
Meanwhile, in the comparison between the rate imposed in 2021 and that of 2022 in nominal terms, the increase in this tax in one year will be 0.3769 pesos per liter for Magna gasoline, 0.3183 pesos per liter for Premium and 0.4142 pesos per liter for diesel.
But it should be remembered that derived from the volatility suffered by the fuels in international markets throughout the year, due to the rise of more than 80% in the price of oil, the IEPS that has really been charged to motorists during this year has had discounts for subsidies called tax incentives has had discounts that have exceeded 50% of its collection at different times in 2021.
