As of January 1, the Resico came into force, which opened the option of paying Income Tax rates of 1 to 2.5%, provided that the annual income of individuals does not exceed 3.5 million pesos. The Resico replaced the Tax Incorporation Regime (RIF).

In the statement of reasons for the presentation of the Resico to the Congress of the Union, it was established that 81.6% of natural persons with business activity would benefit from the new regime.

At the end of 2021, the SAT revealed that of the 10 million 962,946 individuals with business activity registered in the taxpayer registry, 8 million 656,760 decided not to switch to the Resico to continue paying their taxes in accordance with the RIF rules.

This means that 79% of individuals with business activity decided not to change the Resico.
