In southwestern Quebec, summer begins in the gray

The sun will be less generous Tuesday in southern Quebec to give way to cloudiness and a few showers in places, while the mercury will be on the rise.

The showers should first affect the western sectors of the province in the morning, where high humidity is expected, before affecting the Laurentians and the surrounding area with the risk of thunderstorms in the afternoon.

In Montreal, Lanaudière and Montérégie, the weather will be rather cloudy with a 40% chance of showers, while temperatures of 21 degrees are expected for all sectors, according to Environment Canada forecasts.

The central sectors of the province will experience mixed fortunes with cloudiness in Estrie, sunshine in Beauce and Saguenay and alternating sunshine and clouds in Québec and 23 degrees on the thermometer and a Humidex of 26.

Even though the temperatures will be below normal for the season, the weather conditions will be much better in eastern Quebec, with generally sunny weather marked by a few passing clouds in places.
