The Immigrant Awards of Distinction (IDA) is an awards gala dedicated to the remarkable contributions immigrants and refugees have made to creating a strong and prosperous Canada. The annual awards ceremony uses the power of storytelling to recognize how Calgary’s mosaic of ethnicities, languages, cultures and talents has enriched and positively shaped our communities.

IDA 2022 has nine award categories:

- Art and culture
- Community service
- Entrepreneurship and Innovation
- Life Achievement
- Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics
- Youth achievement
- Organizational diversity
- Community development through sport
Schedule:
5:00 pm – Doors open
5:30 pm – Networking with light snacks
6:30 pm – The awards ceremony begins
8:00 pm – Reception with music and desserts (VIP reception includes hot food)
9:00 pm – End of the event
Dress code:
The event is somewhat formal, but totally fun. Formal, business or ethnic clothing is appropriate and recommended, but not required.
