IMF continues in “frequent and harsh” talks with Argentina

The International Monetary Fund He said Thursday that he has “frequent” and “tough” discussions with Argentina, when both continue to negotiate a program to replace a failed one agreed in 2018 and for which the South American country still owes $ 45 billion.

“We continue to work with the Argentine authorities to reach full understandings on a comprehensive plan,” IMF spokesman Gerry Rice said at a scheduled press conference.

The Argentine President, Alberto Fernandez, said Sunday that it would bring an economic plan to Congress in early December that would include understandings with the IMF.

Rice said there was no update on the future meeting schedule or on a new schedule.
