Partial human remains were reportedly located in the park where authorities have been searching for the wanted fugitive in the Gabby Petito case.

The discovery of remains comes after some items belonging to Laundrie were found in the Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park.

Law enforcement sources told NBC News that the human remains were found in a section of the park that had been under water due to heavy rains.

CNN reported that a corpse dog was also deployed at the scene.

Police say nothing about whether the 23-year-old person of interest in the disappearance and murder of his girlfriend, youtuber Gabby Petito, has been found dead.

Laundrie’s parents went to a park near their North Port home Wednesday where the items were found, attorney Steven Bertolino told the New York Post.

“Chris and Roberta went to Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park this morning to look for Brian,” he said in an email. “The FBI and (the North Port Police Department) were informed last night of Brian’s parents’ intentions and met Chris and Roberta there this morning.”

“After a brief search for a trail Brian frequented, some items belonging to Brian were found. As of now, the police are conducting a more exhaustive search in that area, ”said Bertolino.

According to NBC2, the Medical Examiner’s Office was called to the scene.

Meanwhile, the search for Laundrie has led to the discovery of five more bodies scattered across the United States.

Brian Laundrie, 23, is the only person of interest in Petito’s mysterious disappearance and murder.

He has been on the run since mid-September and has most likely fled the US.

The renewed interest in the Petito case triggered a large-scale search for the New Jersey chef. She had been reported missing on June 28 shortly after 5 p.m. when police say she may have walked away from a short-term rental she was using while traveling with friends and an ex-boyfriend. His remains have yet to be positively identified and, as of yet, there is no cause of death.

HOMELESS MAN, ALABAMA

A homeless man was found dead in a Mobile, Alabama dumpster on September 20, around the time police estimated Laundrie to be in town. However, there is no connection to the case.
