Here’s how to watch five party leaders debate in French on September 8 and in English on September 9.

The debate in French is Wednesday, September 8, 2021 from 8 pm ET to 10 pm Watch live here.

The debate in English is Thursday, September 9, 2021 from 9 p.m. ET to 11 p.m.

Both take place in the Canadian Museum of History in Gatineau, Que.

Where to watch the debates

Discussions will be streamed live on thestar.com and various television stations, radio stations, digital and social platforms.

The debate in French will be simultaneously translated into English.

who: The participating leaders are: Liberal leader Justin trudeau; Conservative leader Erin O’Toole; NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh; Leader of the Québec bloc Yves-Francois Blanchet; and the leader of the Green Party, Annamie Paul.


The French-language debate will cover five topics: climate, cost of living and public finances, indigenous peoples, cultural industries and cultural identity.

The debate in English will cover affordability, climate, COVID recovery, leadership and accountability and reconciliation.
