It was a story that has become infamous within the cryptocurrency community. In early 2020, an early bitcoin investor was robbed of $ 46 million worth of cryptocurrency through a phone hacking attempt. After reporting him to authorities, an international investigation led police to Hamilton, Ontario, where a the arrest was made and $ 7 million in bitcoins recovered, but many questions were left unanswered. Now the suspect, a teenager who cannot be identified under the Juvenile Criminal Justice Act, is beginning his journey through the criminal justice system.
