Homicides and security spending grew at accelerating rates

The incidence of homicides in the country has followed a growing trend since 2014, which has not been able to decrease, only to stagnate at its highest levels since 2018. At the same time, the government increasingly allocates more resources to public security activities and institutions, only in 2020, spending in this sector increased 14% compared to the previous year.
