The death of a man after a shooting near Whyte Avenue in early October has been confirmed as a homicide.

At approximately 2:18 a.m. on October 3, police received a report of a shooting in the area of ​​81 Avenue and 104 Street. When officers arrived, they found 24-year-old Tanraj Deogen on the street and while trying to save his life, Deogan died at the scene.

An autopsy conducted on October 7 confirmed that Deogen died of a gunshot wound and that his manner of death is a homicide.

Anyone with cell phone photos or video, or anyone with dash cam footage who was in the 81 Avenue and 104 Street area between 2 a.m. and 2:30 a.m. on October 3, should contact police.

Deogan’s death is the 30th confirmed murder in Edmonton so far this year.
