The Minister of Health, Carolina Darias, has confirmed that he will not go to the demonstration called in the Community of Madrid on the occasion of the International Women’s Day on March 8 and that it has obtained the approval of the Government Delegation in the capital.
“Going to that event (in reference to March 8) is not necessary due to the epidemiological situation in the country,” the minister explained, appealing to “coherence and responsibility” linked to controlling the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic.
To questions from the media, Darias explained that, for consistency in his “call to responsibility” to all citizens, the 8-M demonstration “does not take place.” Thus inviting that this type of mass appeals are not held in the epidemiological context of coronavirus.
“I say it bluntly and I think I’m being clear and diaphanous. With the epidemiological situation of our country It would not allow nor would it be understood to carry out the acts that you are commenting on, “Darias concluded.
