Head of the ISSSTE appears before committees of the Chamber of Deputies, for the Third Government Report

Luis Antonio Ramírez Pineda, General Director of the Institute of Social Security and Services for State Workers (ISSSTE), appeared before the United Social Security and Health commissions on the occasion of the analysis of the Third Government Report of the President of the Republic.

After protesting to tell the truth, the general director of ISSSTE pointed out that in three years of work to consolidate the transformation of health services, the Institute of Security and Social Services of State Workers (ISSSTE) has invested around three 1,959 million pesos in equipment, maintenance and medical infrastructure throughout the country for the benefit of 13.5 million beneficiaries.

Ramírez Pineda highlighted that the ISSSTE paid 7 billion to buy medicines and is only waiting for the pharmaceutical companies to make the delivery, so that the right to have the necessary supplies for their care and improve their health.

The ISSSTE advances in three objectives: to improve the attention to the right-of-life, to strengthen the preventive health model and to improve the finances of the Institute, he added.

Before the deputies, the head of ISSSTE stressed that an objective of the president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, is to consolidate the universal health system, in order to bring quality medical services to the entire population, so the The organization gave attention to 59 priority works in clinics and hospitals.

He indicated that with the reestablishment of medical services, outpatient consultations have been restored to 90 percent, surgeries and transplants are being performed in accordance with the program of care for the lag.

Legislative reforms will be promoted to improve the ISSSTE

Deputy Angélica Ivonne Cisneros Luján (Morena) said that social security aims to guarantee the well-being of people and their families throughout the life cycle, including the establishment of pension systems that guarantee a dignified retirement from working life. .

He indicated that legislative reforms will be promoted so that the ISSSTE regulatory framework is in accordance with the vision of comprehensiveness of social security, rescue of the public, respect for the right of access to health, equality between women and men in all aspects related to health and social security. “We will make an ISSSTE that guarantees the well-being of the right holders.”

Deputy Erika de los Ángeles Díaz Villalón (PAN) indicated that health issues take priority because severe problems arise on a daily basis. Today we have a fragmented system where the same beneficiaries consider that they do not receive the same quality of care in the various health units of the same public institution ”.

Strengthen public policies for the benefit of beneficiaries

From the PRI, Deputy Johana Montcerrat Hernández Pérez mentioned that during the health crisis the Institute was a fundamental piece in the fight against the spread of the pandemic; However, poor planning and poor response caused a hospital crisis and neglected care for other chronic diseases, causing the death of dozens of people.

“62 years after its foundation and the service it has provided to safeguard the health of workers in this country, its functionality has deteriorated, limiting the guarantee of medical care for its beneficiaries, as it is no longer dignified and adequate. We cannot continue with a deficient health sector, it is essential to strengthen public policies for the benefit of each and every right holder in the country, “he added.

ISSSTE actions help to overcome the current situation in the country

The deputy of the PVEM, Itzel Aleli Domínguez Zopiyactle, commented that the actions carried out by the ISSSTE have helped to overcome the current situation facing the country, since they not only focused on state workers, but also on citizens in general in the attention to Covid-19.

This, he said, is an example of what can be done with an austere and honest management of public resources, in addition, an economic support program was implemented divided into aspects: in the increase in the amounts of ordinary credits that the ISSSTE grants with an interest rate decreased by 1.5 percentage points and the release of 20 thousand additional housing loans, equivalent to a little more than 13 billion pesos, which not only benefited the workers, but also the economic activation.

Explain the acts of corruption in the ISSSTE

For the PT, the deputy Margarita García García, said that three years from now, it is not possible to continue being pimps and accomplices of an issue as delicate as the health of the citizenry and the Executive cannot be allowed to bear the full burden for the trust it has given to its servants; Therefore, he asked the head of the ISSSTE to explain the corruption that persists in the agency.

In this sense, he underlined that “strength has been given to the union leaders who took over the Institution and continue to enrich themselves and the power that has been granted to friends and compadres; however, the consultations and transfers are delayed ”.

State workers deserve decent social security

Regarding MC, Deputy Salomón Chertorivski Woldenberg pointed out that in terms of workers’ health, the issues of concern are the shortage of medicines, the lag in general and high-specialty consultations, as well as the promotion of prevention instead to heal.

He indicated that if there is something that those who work in the service of the State deserve, it is social security with all the dignity. He considered that the head of this agency “has the enormous responsibility of raising his voice in the face of the disaster that is happening in the health sector.”

Attention to the shortage of medicines

The PRD deputy, Marcelino Castañeda Navarrete, pointed out that an efficient health system is required, for which he asked to address the shortage of medicines and thereby offer a quality service to state workers.

He highlighted that his parliamentary group denounced the opacity in the bidding processes carried out by the ISSSTE, as well as the recent changes to the General Health Law that authorize the purchase of medicines without bidding in cases of pressure. “Urgency that you create by not allowing pharmaceutical companies to schedule government purchases in advance.”
