‘Succession’ will continue on HBO Max. Precisely on the day of its launch in Spain, the entertainment platform has reported in a press release that has renewed the series for a fourth season starring Brian Cox, Jeremy Strong, Sarah Snook, and Kieran Culkin, among others.
“With each season of ‘Succession’Jesse Armstrong (its creator) has continued to exceed our wildest expectations, drawing us closer to the most intimate sanctuary of the Roy family with indelible wit, humanity and precision. This season is certainly no exception, and we couldn’t be more excited for everything that awaits us in the upcoming season, “said Francesca Orsi, HBO’s executive vice president of programming.
In its chapters, ‘Succession’ explores themes of power and family dynamics through the eyes of patriarch Logan Roy (Brian Cox) and his four grown children, Kendall (Jeremy Strong), Siobhan (Sarah Snook), Roman (Kieran Culkin) and Connor (Alan Ruck). The series’ second season won a total of seven Emmys, including best drama series.
The tension will escalate when the irreconcilable business battle threatens to cause a real civil war in the family. In this third season, which premiered on October 18, Logan struggles to maintain and secure family, political and financial alliances after being ambushed by his son Kendall. After Kendall’s impulsive decision to expose the company’s scandals, the Roy family can only see what their future will be like. Tensions rise as a bitter corporate battle threatens to escalate into a family civil war, with the Roy family grappling with the looming question of who will take control in a post-Logan world.
As stated by the platform in this press release, the drama series’ third season premiere attracted more than 1.4 million viewers across all platforms, setting a new record and the best opening night of any HBO Original series since the launch of HBO Max globally.
