Halifax Regional Police are searching for a suspect after several firearms and ammunition were stolen from the Canadian Tire store in Dartmouth Crossing over the holidays.

In a statement, police said the store at 30 Lamont Terrace was broken into on December 24 and 25.

Just after 8:30 p.m. on December 24, a suspect was seen on video breaking a store door to enter. He is described as a “larger man wearing gray sweatpants, a black hoodie and a black balaclava.”

“It appears that the suspect was startled by an audible alarm and quickly left the store,” the statement said.

On December 25, shortly after 8:30 p.m., the man was seen entering the store again, wearing the same balaclava, along with blue jeans and a black jacket.

During this time, various firearms and ammunition were stolen, according to the statement.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact Halifax Regional Police or Crime Stoppers.
