Various accents of pop, songwriting and experimentation are manifested in the musical plot of Grec 2022. Among the proposals, six gala nights on the fetish stage of the Teatre Grec.
1. Roger Mas
This year the Solsona troubadour celebrates his 25th anniversary career with an album of new songs, ‘Totes les flors’, but he has allowed himself an exceptional night in which he will look back with the assistance of the group that once staged his classic ‘Les cançons tel·lúriques’ ( 2008). A wide range of guests will be added, such as Maria del Mar Bonet, Pi de la Serra, David Carabén (Mishima), Núria Graham or the Cobla Sant Jordi.
2. The Pets
Debut at the Teatre Grec of this Catalan pop classic, with 36 years of history behind it and a brand new album released this Friday, ‘1963’, where Joan Pons (El Petit de Cal Eril), responsible for the production, reaffirms his bond. The title of the album alludes to the year of birth of its three members, Lluís Gavaldà, Joan Reig and Falin Cáceres, and is indicative of the adult approach that has been given to the new songbook, which includes subtle British New Wave influences.
3. ‘Fado Night’
The Portuguese genre will be present with the agreement of Cuca Roseta, outstanding voice of the last generations (and composer on her latest album, ‘Meu’), and a figure with more experience, Camane, known in our country for his involvement in the documentary ‘Fados’ (by Carlos Saura, 2007). He will be accompanied by pianist Mario Laginha with whom he shared the celebrated album ‘Aquí está-se sossegado’, nominated for the 2020 Latin Grammys. Three-band night, which will be accompanied by other activities in collaboration with the Barcelona Fado Festival.
4.Jane Birkin
With the album ‘Oh! Pardon tu dormais ‘(2020), the Anglo-French singer and actress departed from the repertoire of her late ex, Serge Gainsbourg, and opted for songs with own texts and music by the select pop author Étienne Daho (in alliance with his accomplice Jean-Louis Piérot). The voice associated with milestones like ‘Je t’aime… moi non plus ‘sings now to the chiaroscuro of his maturity, and to bitter episodes such as the death of his daughter, Kate. He returns to the Teatre Grec 19 years after staging the splendid ‘Arabesque’ there.
5. ‘Malalts del cel’

The last album of Armhole, the much applauded ‘Malalts del cel’, released at the end of 2016, was not performed live due to the artist’s retirement, but his friends Quimi Portet and Guillem Gisbert (Manel) they have conspired to take him on stage for one night. They will do so with a large band and a parade of guests in the figure handl in full, as well as Maria Arnal, Marina Rossell, David Carabén (Mishima), Joan Garriga, Tarta Relena, La Ludwig Band, Queralt Lahoz and others to be confirmed.
6. Salvador Sobral & Marco Mezquida
