“All Things Relatable” was first released by Grande Prairie resident Candace Dunaway in May of this year. The show has recently attracted around 4,500 downloads, with listeners from Canada, the US, India and Europe tuning in.

The idea for “All Things Related” grew out of a conversation Dunaway had with her mentor about what inspires her.

“Through our conversation, I realized that a podcast would be a perfect fit for all of that,” Dunaway said.

Once Dunaway found clarity on what he wanted to achieve, the podcast built from there.

“Clarity was the most important part, I just had to work every day to create and release it,” said Dunaway.

A couple of the main themes that permeate the Dunaway podcast are understanding how people have overcome different obstacles and why they have become who they are.

“I love to strike up conversations and dive deep with people,” Dunaway said, “I’m very curious.”

Dunaway has a wide range of international guests including adventure photographer Cory Rich, mixed with various local guests such as Jen Edwards, Justin Rille, and Thomasina Bosch throughout the podcast’s 35 episodes.

Dunaway believes that “All Things You Can Relate to” is ideal for anyone seeking personal growth and looking to make changes in their life.

“Maybe it’s just a story or a message that you hear on the podcast that can really create such a positive change in your life,” Dunaway said.

In her normal life, Dunaway is a substitute teacher and mother of three, so finding time to produce an additional podcast is a huge challenge that she enjoys.

“It just brightens me up and I’m so excited about it,” Dunaway said, “so it doesn’t feel like work, it’s the fun I add to my day.”

New episodes of the show are released every Tuesday, and Dunaway is focused on trying to create quality content every week.

“As the weeks go by, I keep discovering new people that I want to talk to,” Dunaway said, adding that “it’s kind of endless.”

Dunaway says the fuel that keeps her going with this project is listening to listeners and seeing the positivity her show has brought them.

“I love hearing the comments,” Dunaway said, “I have received a lot of comments from people who have listened to and been affected by the episode in some way.”
