Grande Prairie Teen Captured and Charged for Posing as Officer – Edmonton | The Canadian News

Grande Prairie police charged an 18-year-old with posing as a law enforcement officer after a disturbing incident Friday night.

A man told police he was turning when an older model SUV approached from behind with flashing blue and red lights on the dash.

When he stopped, a man wearing a uniform shirt and a police badge approached his vehicle, claimed it was all a joke, and drove away.

Police were able to locate the teenager, who is scheduled to appear in court next month.

RCMP reminds drivers that they can always request proper identification from an officer, including license plate number and photo identification.
