Government of Puebla eliminates the mandatory use of face masks


The Governor of PueblaMiguel Barbosa Huerta, announced that the mandatory use of face masks is eliminated in the entity due to the reduction in infections and deaths due to Covid-19.

At a conference, Barbosa commented that this Thursday morning he would sign a decree to establish that the use of this coronavirus infection prevention measure is “a voluntary matter.”

“If each person assumes that they must use it, it is a decision that we praise, that we recognize, but we also have to adjust to the reality that we are living in. The use of face masks, as of today, is voluntary in the state of Puebla,” he said. the poblano governor.




The Puebla health authorities began this week their vaccination day against Covid-19 for adolescents 12 to 14 years of age.

The local Secretary of Health, José Antonio Martínez, explained that on the first day of vaccination, in this new stage, 26,544 doses were applied.

Regarding the behavior of the Covid-19 epidemic in Puebla, the official explained that at the end of the last 24 hours, eight new infections and no deaths were registered. There are 156,921 positive cases since the pandemic began in the entity.
