THREE THINGS ABOUT THE JETS

The Jets are trying to keep their slim playoff hopes alive and can’t afford another loss to the Senators. Ottawa scored a 5-2 victory over Winnipeg March 24 with captain Brady Tkachuk scoring twice. Anton Forsberg stopped 22 of 24 shots in that one. Only Kyle Connor and Josh Morrissey replied for Winnipeg. The Jets had a 6-4-0 record against Ottawa in the North Division last season.

The Jets will be well-rested and come into this one trying to snap a four-game winless skid. The club is 0-3-1 in that stretch and has little hope of making the post-season. Morrissey had a goal and assist in the club’s 5-4 OT loss to Colorado Friday and has a career-high 32 points.

Nikolaj Ehlers has been a force for the Jets. He comes into this one on a five-game point streak with four goals and eight points in that stretch. It’s the third time this season that Ehlers has registered a five-game streak. Expect to see goalie Connor Hellebuyck against the Senators. He started his 60th game of the season Friday and that’s the third time in his career he’s reached the plateau.
