“Freedom convoy”: a policewoman accused of having supported the truckers

A Durham Regional Police officer is facing six charges for showing support for ‘freedom convoy’ truckers, in a video of her wearing her uniform.

These charges were laid under the Police Services Act, reported the Toronto Suno.

Police officer Erin Howard has been charged with dishonorable conduct, insubordination and breach of trust.

“I wanted to congratulate all the truckers,” she said in a video posted on Twitter on January 24, but since deleted.

“I think what you are doing is amazing. You are fighting for our rights and our freedoms and, at the moment, it seems that we are a bit at war and that these rights and freedoms are at stake”, she added according to the media.

The Durham Regional Police then quickly reacted on Twitter to disassociate themselves from the comments that had been made by the agent.

The hearing will be held on May 5.
