“The legal community quickly wanted to get involved in order to support Ukrainian nationals in their administrative and legal procedures, which can be complex for people who arrive in a precarious situation”, indicated Me Anne-Marie Santorineos, lawyer, LLM, Executive Director of Justice Pro Bono, who says the organization has already responded to several requests for help.

Thus, lawyers from the organization will help these people with their needs in terms of immigration law, labor law, housing or access to public services such as health insurance, social services or education.

An assistance service will also be offered to Ukrainians already settled in Québec to assist them in the process of renewing their visa.

“Justice Pro Bono offers information sessions and individual consultations with lawyers, many of whom speak Ukrainian, on various subjects including temporary visa applications, work permits and non-accompanying parent authorization for minor children,” the organization also said in a statement released on Monday.
