Franchises in Puebla seek to resume investments for 25 million pesos

Puebla, Puebla. The Mexican Franchise Network (RMF) seeks to resume investments of around 25 million pesos from foreign firms throughout 2022, these are restaurants, cafeterias and fast food.

The president of the RMF, Francisco Lobato Galindo, commented that one of those interested in resuming plans in the first semester operates points of sale of various brands, whose decision had been postponed for almost a year because the epidemiological panorama did not improve.

He pointed out that the company is interested in opening franchises of Starbucks, Vips, Domino’s Pizza, Burger King, Italianni’s, Cheesecake Factory and Chili’s, among others, so it cannot have projects stopped for so long, since, based on studies of market is programming the openings.

“The state government must pay more attention to economic reactivation with a more feasible strategy so that businessmen can apply their investments, complying with sanitary measures, because otherwise the jobs that Puebla needs are not generated,” he deepened.

Lobato Galindo trusted that despite the difficult situation due to the pandemic, at least half of the new franchises can be completed, as long as the number of Covid-19 infections remains low.

He recalled that 40% of the 1,500 franchises located in Puebla and surrounding municipalities closed or were put up for sale as a result of not recovering economically after the economic reactivation in August 2020.

“The economy is improving, but the franchises are still up to date, because sales during the week are 50% and only on weekends they rise another 20%,” he deepened.

He acknowledged that franchises are having a hard time recovering in sales, but they cannot close either because jobs and opportunities are lost in this competitive sector.

He indicated that local businesses are investing in remodeling or expansion, to have more customers, but the amounts are minimal.
