Fourth wave of Covid-19: Ministry of Health reports 743 new deaths


The number of deaths due to Covid-19 in Mexico rose this Wednesday to 310,627 deaths, after the Ministry of Health reported 743 new deaths in the last 24 hours.

In the daily technical report on the progress of the coronavirus epidemic 24,898 new confirmed cases were registered in the country, reaching a cumulative total of 5,192,008 infected.

Meanwhile, the health authorities estimate that in Mexico there are 127,421 active cases, that is, people who have presented symptoms of the disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus in the last 14 days.

According to the federal agency, the states with the highest rate of active cases per 100,000 inhabitants are:

  • Baja California Sur
  • Mexico City
  • Nayarit
  • Tlaxcala
  • Queretaro
  • Aguascalientes
  • Campeche

Vaccination against Covid-19 in Mexico

The Ministry of Health explained that at the cutoff of Tuesday, February 8, 388,361 vaccines against Covid-19 at the national level.

The federal government highlighted that a total of 170 million 203,675 doses have been applied as part of the national vaccination plan to control the covid-19 pandemicwhich started on December 24, 2020.

Of the 83 million 936,198 people vaccinated against the coronavirus in Mexico, 77 million 659,769 have complete schemes.
