Two cars and an apartment building were damaged in a fire that broke out early Thursday. The fire has been deemed suspicious by police.

There were no injuries reported during the incident, which occurred around midnight in a parking lot outside an apartment block on 24th Ave. near Jean-Rivard St. in the city’s Saint-Michel district.

While only one car was on fire, the flames damaged a second car parked alongside it and the heat from the blaze caused damage to the nearby apartment building.

Montreal firefighters were able to extinguish the flames but could not determine how the fire started. The investigation has been assigned to the Montreal police arson squad.

The remains of the car where the fire broke out were towed away for further analysis by investigators.
