Generalitat Railways (FGC) has reestablished this Saturday the train service of line S1 between stations Les Fonts and Plaza de Catalunya, and between the four stations of Terrassa, while the section between Terrassa Rambla and Les Fonts continues to be cut after the fall of a wall 20 linear meters by six meters high on the tracks.

According to a company statement, the stretch between Terrassa Rambla and Les Fonts maintains the alternative road service until the ground displacement zone is operational. In mid-afternoon on Friday, a landslide covered both directions of the FGC tracks in Terrassa, between the Les Fonts and Terrassa Rambla stations, and broke the catenary, forcing the train service between Sant Cugat del Vallès and Terrassa to be cut off.

The company is cleaning the area affected by the landslide and actions are focused on assess the state of the terrain, in collaboration with the Cartographic and Geological Institute of Catalonia, as well as knowing the causes of the detachment and carrying out the necessary work to be able to offer the integral rail service again as soon as possible.

In the case of Rodalies, it has already been train circulation between Planoles and Ribes de Freser reestablished after a rockslide from the mouth of a tunnel cut this line, the R3 that connects L’Hospitalet de Llobregat and Puigcerdà.
