FEMSA and KOF stand out for sustainable actions

Fomento Economico Mexicano (FEMSA) and its subsidiary Coca-Cola FEMSA (KOF) were included in the Dow Jones Sustainability indices, due to the progress shown in their actions undertaken in the area of ​​sustainability.

For both companies, sustainability is “the ability to generate the social, environmental and economic conditions to operate in the present and continue to grow in harmony with the environment and society. They are both signatories of the United Nations Global Compact and members of the Tent Partnership for Refugee, ”said Víctor Treviño, FEMSA’s Director of Energy and Sustainability.

Some initiatives of the royal firm in terms of sustainability is that it operates in more than 15,000 work centers with renewable energy. In addition, 100% of KOF factories are Zero Waste certified.

The main Coca-Cola bottler in the world, seeks to achieve that 100% of its containers are recyclable by 2030.
