Entrepreneurs claim legal certainty and no more changes to invest: CMN

“We need certainty, clarity in the rules and no more changes” in public policies, claimed the president of the Mexican Business Council (CMN), Anthony of the Valleystating that private investments are ready to underpin Mexico’s economic growth.

After holding a private meeting with the US ambassador to Mexico, Ken Salazar and the Business Coordinating Council (CCE), the representative of large companies in our country, said that there is great interest in investing and highlighted the projects in the South Southeast of Mexico.

he was questioned, Is there interest from foreign investors to come to Mexico?

—Of course yes, despite the situation we are experiencing in the world situation, Mexico continues to be very attractive for investments.

Del Valle said that, according to a study on Nearshoring (relocation of companies) of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Mexico is receiving between 6 and 7 times more investment in this regard than the main country that follows us in Latin America, which is Brazil.

“That must be taken advantage of, we must take advantage of the situation and attract much more investment, but for that, we need certainty, clarity in the rules and no more changes, because what we entrepreneurs need is that: the peace of mind that there are rules, that there are laws and that they are not going to change and that if they are going to change, it is to promote investment, development, well-paid employment in the country”, established the president of the CMN.

He mentioned that during the meeting they held with the president of Mexico, Andres Manuel Lopez Obradorthe Mexican Business Council that represents more than 50 large corporations, raised the concern of energy projects, where capital does not flow due to the regulatory restrictions that the federal government has implemented.

Another issue of concern is the growing insecurity in the country, he said, because “it was said that there are important regions in the country, that where we see every day this situation has become complicated.”

Of course, Del Valle said, the government has statistically reported that crime rates are down in much of the country. “However, we continue to see it and suffer it every day in many regions in many sectors of the economy and I hope that the government’s strategy, the effort that the government is making, will have results going forward, because there is no doubt that the Security is essential for a positive dynamic in the country’s economy,” he warned.
