[EN IMAGES] Spectacular accident in Montérégie: three injured, two seriously

A spectacular road accident involving five vehicles, including a heavy truck that split open, left two seriously injured and one slightly injured, Thursday afternoon, in Sainte-Cécile-de-Milton, in Montérégie.

The collision, the circumstances of which had still not been established at the start of the evening, occurred a little after 3 p.m., on Chemin de Saint-Valérien, very close to the intersection of Route 137.

During the collision, a semi-trailer carrying aluminum cans rolled onto its side. The trailer would also have fallen on at least one vehicle.

A specialized trailer had to be called to the scene in an emergency to lift the heavy weight in order to free the occupant of the vehicle.

In total, authorities report that three people were injured in the collision, two of them seriously.

However, it was impossible to know whether there was fear for their lives.

Chemin de Saint-Valérien has been completely closed to traffic for an indefinite period.

The Sûreté du Québec sent a level 4 investigator to the scene, which suggests that criminal charges could be brought against one of the drivers involved in the accident.
