At the close of Mental health and psychiatry foundations, Tuesday, September 28, the President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron announced several measures, including the reimbursement of consultations with psychologists. These consultations will be reimbursed by Social Security for the entire population, from the age of 3, on medical prescription, up to 40 euros for the first and 30 euros for the following ones, announced the Head of State.
The reimbursement of consultations, currently tested in four departments, was claimed by the profession, while “The pandemic has revealed the importance of the subject of mental health”, specified the Head of State in front of the Assises of mental health in Paris, presented by the ministry of health as a “Historic moment of the national debate”.
A succession of round tables and conferences with players in the sector, these Assises were to provide concrete answers to the mental ailments of the French and to the distress of those who treat them. Announced by Emmanuel Macron on January 14, first scheduled for July, they were finally held on September 27 and 28, by videoconference.
