The actress, who met John in 2008 and got engaged to him a year later, insists a perfect dish earned him enough to kneel down and ask her to marry him.
She told the River Cafe Table 4 Podcast , “I think I just did something that I knew you would love. A roast chicken. Who doesn’t love rotisserie chicken? The roast chicken I love is the roast chicken from Ina Garten (cookbook author). It’s called their ‘Engagement Chicken’, because I think when people make it for people, they commit or something.
“Lemon, garlic, onion to chicken, thyme, salt and pepper, all that. Sprinkle onions around the chicken, but pack them very tightly on the pan. And then he roasts them really high for about an hour and 20 minutes and they’re done and they’re perfect.
