According to tweets from Burnaby’s RCMP on Wednesday, the item was allegedly part of the Alberta Pavilion at the 1986 World’s Fair in Vancouver.
“It was first thought to be from the late Jurassic or Cretaceous period, actually it is from the Expo 86 era,” the tweet reads. “Please contact the police with any information.”
The Mounties point out that the cat that appears on top of the dinosaur’s head is not a suspect in the crime.
